Erica Chisolm is a mixed media acrylic painter, art activist, and muralist based in Atlanta, GA & Birmingham, AL. She uses acrylic paint, tissue paper, decorative paper, twine & other elements to create textured paintings. This body of work is concerned with the significance of adversity during transitioning from one mental, physical or emotional place to another. Erica Chisolm is a well-trained beauty professional who focuses on the imperfections of beauty and becoming. Roses are the most resilient flower, constantly thriving through all conditions. In this body of work E.L.Chisolm strongly emphasizes the commonalities of the rose and the human-being, both thriving in spite of adversity.

She aspires to paint murals and activate art in underserved communities. E.L.Chisolm believes that everyone was created, therefore everyone is a creator, & if you take away anyone's right to create, you create chaos. It is her goal to help bring creativity and public art to places that have deemed it unimportant. She is currently working as a Creative Placemaking Specialist for Urban Impact Birmingham, a place-based economic development non-profit located in the Historical 4th Ave Business & Civil Rights District in Birmingham, AL. She is inspired by the public art in cities like Atlanta, Philidelphia, Miami & many others.
